Abandoned factory, and, erm, a toilet
I took these photographs over the weekend, of an abandoned factory (at least, that's what I'm assuming it is) in Southampton, UK.

I couldn't get as close to the building as I would have liked, due to the place being fenced off and (according to signs placed on the gates) under 24-hour surveillance, so I had to take most of these pictures by holding my camera through the bars of the fence, but I think they came out okay. :)

Taken near the back of the building.

Maybe Harry will come and break it open with his hammer.

The side of the building.

Same. Although you can't really see it in this photo, some of the bushes & plants along the side of the building were surprisingly well-kept - perhaps it hasn't been abandoned for that long?

Slightly blurry shot.

Close-up. If you look to the right of the photo, you can see one of the aforementioned well-kept bushes. That, and the daffodils, look a little out-of-place.

A boarded-up entrance and some stairs. I couldn't read what the sign on the door read, not from that distance.

The gates. I like the contrast between the really rusted one and the blue one.

View from the other side of the road.

Same, a little further up the road.

Now for a few more photos, taken today, at the scrapyard in my local area. I have previously posted some photos of this place - most prominently the seemingly abandoned garage/house in the middle of the yard, both here & here.

The door to this room has been removed since my first visit, exposing the rather grubby inner contents to the outside world.

What a mess.

Slightly lopsided shot.

I like that the shelf brackets have actually been welded to the door.

There were also lots of discarded toilets, sinks and baths all over the floor outside this building... except I didn't photograph those. Maybe next time.

I'm so confused by shelves being welded to a door. WHY. o_O

Yeah, that kind of puzzled me, too. Maybe they weren't planning on using that door any more? Even so, it's still an odd place to put some shelves.
